Programs
Bringing accessible, hands-on STEM learning to inner-city Minneapolis students, createMPLS can bridge skills and experience gaps, helping more students succeed in higher education and today’s job market.
createMPLS programs are all designed to help K-12 students build foundational technology skills, learn teamwork and problem solving, and become positive difference makers in the community. Our programs encourage students to become more self-directed learners as they practice critical thinking, collaboration, engineering, and design. They also develop teamwork, problem solving, and presentation skills through expos and team competitions.
Learning Labs
Learning labs provide our students with opportunities to explore STEM skills in hands-on programs designed to meet their unique learning level and expand their knowledge.

Competitive Teams
Students that enjoy our learning labs are invited to join the createMPLS competitive teams. These programs utilize STEM skills and give opportunities for practical application in a fun, competitive environment.
Expanding students’ opportunity for high-school, middle-school, and elementary age students through FIRST LEGO League (Explore & Challenge), FIRST Tech Challenge, SPHERO Global Challenge, CoderZ, and Technovation.
Classroom Programs
We have developed K-12 introductory STEM classes with our host sites, are co-teaching tech classes and electives, and creating advanced STEM classes with local tech schools.
This in-school programming is where we are able to invest in students the most. Through our scaffolded curriculum, we can see students becoming increasingly prepared to pursue tech careers.
